Optometrist

Dr. Steven Chen graduated from Christian Brothers University in 2020, earning a Bachelor of Science degree before going on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2025. During his training, Dr. Chen completed an extensive internship at UAB School of Optometry, where he gained experience in primary eye care, ocular disease management, contact lenses, and pediatric optometry. He further expanded his clinical expertise through externships at a private practice and the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, treating a diverse patient population with a wide range of visual needs.

Outside of the office, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with his dog, Graham, binge-watching TV shows, and vending at local Pokémon card shows on weekends. He is passionate about building strong relationships with his patients and believes in providing compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to each individual’s lifestyle and visual goals.

Dr. Chen specializes in comprehensive geriatric, adult, and pediatric eye examinations and has extensive experience managing ocular diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and hypertension. He also provides pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients. Dr. Chen is currently accepting new patients of all ages.
